Since the beginning of this miserable 2009 and we've noticed quite a number of unfortunate and odd events going on:

In football, the Egyptian team has defeated the world-cup champions, Italy, and the US team has made it up to the finals.
General Motors found a buyer for their prestigious car; the Hammer, to a Chinese machinery compnay!!!

I suppose these freaking news are enough to give us that pessimistic feelings to live up the rest of 2009 :s
